User Manual: Gas-Powered Vaporizer for Oxalic Acid Treatment

This user manual will guide you through the easy steps to use the vaporizer effectively and safely.

Important Safety Warning

Please read and follow these instructions carefully to ensure safe and successful vaporization. Failure to do so may result in equipment damage or injury.

Step 1: Setup and Assembly

  1. Screw the blow torch onto the gas cartridge securely.
  2. Attach the blow torch to the vaporizer and use the enclosed clip to fix it in place.

Step 2: Preparing Oxalic Acid

  1. Use the enclosed spoon to measure approximately 1 – 2g of oxalic acid into each cap.
  2. Turn the vaporizer upside down and attach the cap with oxalic acid. At this point, the oxalic acid is in a cool cap, and sublimation has not started.

Step 3: Initiating Sublimation

  1. Turn the vaporizer back to its correct position. This will cause the oxalic acid powder to fall into the vaporizer chamber.
  2. If the vaporizer is already hot, the sublimation process will begin immediately, and white smoke will be released from the vaporizer.

Step 4: Inserting the Vaporizer

  1. Insert the vaporizer into the entrance of the beehive to allow the sublimated oxalic acid smoke to enter the hive.
  2. The sublimation process takes approximately 30 – 45 seconds to complete.

Safety Tips for Using the Blow Torch

  1. Only use the flame of the blow torch briefly, just enough to heat the central chamber of the vaporizer and start the sublimation process. White smoke indicates that the sublimation has started. Turn the flame off immediately at this point to save gas and prevent overheating or damage to the vaporizer.
  2. During the sublimation process, use the lowest possible intensity of the flame that still ensures sufficient burning. Close the air flow nozzle on the blow torch as much as possible to reduce the flame's temperature.
  3. The vaporizer is made of aluminum, which has a lower melting point than the maximum temperature the blow torch can produce. Prolonged and continuous heating at the highest intensity of the flame can cause irreparable damage to the vaporizer. Therefore, put out the flame as soon as you no longer need it.

Remember, safety is paramount during oxalic acid vaporization. Always wear appropriate protective gear, work in a well-ventilated area, and follow the safety precautions mentioned in this manual.
